Obituary

Arthur Fischer was born in Brooklyn, NY on Monday July 09, 1934 to Leo S. Fischer and Pauline J. Fischer.

Arthur attended P.S. 226 in Brooklyn, NY and Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY. He was valedictorian of his graduating class of 500 students. He then enrolled in Columbia University in Manhattan, NY and earned a bachelor of arts degree (BA) and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering (BSEE).

He worked as an engineer at American Bosch Arma Corp in Roosevelt Field, Long Island, NY. Arthur's parents had been divorced and his mother remarried to Theodore L. Hirscherg. They then moved to North Miami Beach, FL where Arthur accepted a position at the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company in Orlando, FL to be closer to his new home. Arthur worked on the Bullpup Project when a year later he accepted a job at Cape Canaveral and worked at Chrysler Corporation on the Saturn 1B Project, which was the predecessor to the Saturn Apollo project to travel to the moon. Later, Arthur then joined Boeing Co. for a year.

Arthur decided to change professions and open The Kismet Restaurant & Lounge in Melbourne, FL with his late partner, Donald Dauenbaugh. He managed The Kismet  until it was sold in 1984 where he was then involved in the computer field and then retired.

Arthur had many hobbies and interests. He particularly enjoyed foreign travel, especially cruise ships, to exotic places, mostly Brazil, where he and his parents were able to find unusual artifacts to decorate The Kismet Restaurant. In recent years, Arthur became friends with Luiz Dell'Agnolo of Santos, São Paulo, Brazil  and Pericles Nogueria of São Paulo, Brazil . He learned to speak Portuguese in order to be able to communicate with the many wonderful people of Brazil when he visited.

He was a talented photographer and enjoyed three-dimensional photography. Arthur belonged to the National Stereoscopic Association. He also was a computer enthusiast and engaged with personal computers as well as business computers. Arthur was extremely occupied with amazon echo and Alexa devices. He attended local theaters, live bands, and concerts since Arthur loved live theater, movies, and live music.
