Arthur Joseph DiMinno, 82, of Melbourne, Florida, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. He was born on November 18, 1931 in New Britain, Connecticut to Luca DiMinno and Mary Canale. He graduated from New Britain High School in 1949 and received a degree in Music Education from Hartt College of Music in 1953. He was married to Irene Cole on December 18, 1958. After college, he served in the U.S. Army and played saxophone and clarinet in the Army Band.

Arthur worked in the insurance industry as a manager for many years and was very successful, but his passion was music. He continued to make music throughout his life playing in numerous ensembles, bands in a variety of venues. While in the army band, he played for the television variety show hosted by Arlene Francis. In addition to being a skilled instrumentalist, he also composed and arranged music. He was a poet, photographer and artist as well. He was also very passionate about being a devoted father and husband.
Arthur is survived by his wife Irene and his children Adele, David and Marc, grandchildren Lily and Benjamin and great grandchild Sylvie.

A memorial service was held at the Friendship Fellowship Unitarian Church in Rockledge on Thursday, May 8.
