Anthony Cemelli (Tony) 90, of Satellite Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2020.
He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on January 14, 1930 to the late Salvatore and Rose Cemelli. He served in special services in the army was honorably discharged 1950.
Anthony married Virginia Rico in 1957. They resided in New Jersey until they migrated as snowbirds to Satellite Beach, FL in 2001, where they became full time residents.
Anthony worked as a tractor-trailer driver for 27 years, then as a gardener/doorman in New York City until he retired. As a natural gardener he loved Florida where he could cut a plant, put the cutting in the ground and create a whole new life. He became known as Tony-apple-seed and was loved and respected by his friends and neighbors, many of whom became family.
Anthony was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He loved to travel and enjoyed a wonderful trip to Maui, and took cruises to Bermuda, Alaska and the Panama Canal.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia (Ginger), sons Arthur (Brenda) Cemelli and Stephen Cemelli. He was the proud grandfather of Lauren, Kaylan Ember and Alder Cemelli. He is predeceased by his son Andrew, grandson Logan, brothers Emil, James, Salvatore, Frank, and Paul and sisters Carmella, Mary and Anna.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in the future at Holy Name of Jesus. Date to be announced.
