Obituary

Annette Ellen (Ando) Rollins, of Melbourne, Florida, died November 30, 2021, she was 88 years old.

She was born to the late Guy Ando and Cosma (Celi) Ando on October 27, 1933, in Stoughton, MA. Annette graduated St. John's High School at the age of 15 and went to work as one of the first IBM girls in John Hancock in Boston when she was 16. She went through their training program to learn how to work on the first computers of our time. She often joked of the computers she worked on taking up an entire room to do data processing and she loved her work.

When she was 18, she met her husband Royal "Bud" Rollins while riding the train to Boston, playing cards and talking their way to work. They were married 6 years later on November 10, 1957, after Bud got home from the service.

She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, raising her family in North Easton, MA. She lived in Alexandria, Egypt for a couple years, then moved to Rochester, NY, then to Miami, FL, always making new friends along the way. She made her final home in Melbourne, FL.

She worked many different types of jobs throughout her life. She was very personable, and people loved her to work for them. Annette was an active member of the Stoughton Little Theater, where she met many life-long friends. She was known for her parties and she could always "throw something together".  She was active in her church, the Immaculate Conception of N. Easton and taught CCD to many 6 th graders in her town.

Annette loved to play games, especially pinochle, and played nearly every evening after dinner with her family. She was always a good sport and would play any games that were brought to her and smiled and also laughed so hard when the "kids" wanted to play their games. She also loved going to plays and held season tickets to the theater. She was a joy to be around and always thought about others first. She looked forward to spending time with folks, and even when she wasn't feeling great, she always made time to talk and visit. Annette never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone who seemed like they needed to talk. She always made everyone feel welcomed to be in her home and surroundings.

Annette is survived by her husband, Royal Rollins, her children Mark Rollins of Martha's Vineyard, MA; Michael Rollins and his wife Clotilde of Sun Valley, ID; Elizabeth Rollins and her husband Neal of Melbourne, FL; and her stepdaughter Rhonda Luebs of Suntree, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Amir Tawfik and Rahmy Tawfik and his wife Arielle; Juliette, Paul, and Charles Rollins; Margaret Giles; and also her great-granddaughter, Isabella. She had many cousins, nieces, nephews, and people who just called her "Auntie Annette" who were very dear to her heart.

In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Annette's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
