Ann Ronaldson, 96, returned to her heavenly home on a most beautiful Sunday morning, October 26, 2014. She died as she lived, peacefully and gracefully.

Ann was born to Dorothy and Lawrence Iversen in Brooklyn, NY on July 13, 1918. From an early age, Ann was endowed with a servant's heart, and throughout her life put the needs of others ahead of her own. She cared for her mother who was an invalid afflicted with tuberculosis, and even forwent a singing scholarship to Julliard to continue her care. Ann was a gifted singer and pianist, and her family and friends were blessed to have enjoyed her talents.

Ann was the beloved matriarch of a large family. She married her best friend, Captain Herbert Joseph Ronaldson , on March 3rd, 1943 at Eglin Air Force Base. Ann and Joe were childhood classmates from kindergarten and were even in the same First Holy Communion class. Together they raised nine children of their own, and proceeded to adopt five more when her sister and brother-in-law both passed away in the same year. Ann dedicated herself to raising fourteen children and the care of an elderly aunt, a fact in which she was deservedly proud.

In 1974, Ann and Joe moved to Rotunda, FL. Ann was President of the Women's Guild at her parish, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a regular on the golf course and bridge table with her husband. She and Joe enjoyed the company of their friends and regular visits from their family until his death on, January 26, 1998. They were loving partners for 55 years.

Ann resided in Brevard County for 16 years. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and enjoyed many Sunday dinners and special occasions with her son, Dr. James Ronaldson and his family. Ann's constant companion was her dear friend, Alfrieda Glynn. As octogenarians they traveled to fourteen countries together spanning two continents. They were spirited travelers, up for any adventure.

Ann is survived by 7 children, 29 grand children and 33 great grand children. Faith, family and marriage were the cornerstones of her life, so it brings comfort to know that Ann is reunited with her Father in Heaven, her husband and her two sons.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 am, Melbourne Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Immaculate Conception Church or William Childs Hospice House.
