Anita Louise Short, 77, passed away July 22, 2012 in Melbourne, FL. She was born on March 19, 1935, in Richmond, IN, the daughter of the late William Gebhart and Mary Weaver.
She moved to Brevard County in 2002. She worked as a seamstress, and retired from Bethany Lutheran. Anita enjoyed crocheting and making crafts, especially for the Cocoa Evangelistic Church.
She is survived by three sons, William (Marcia) Lamb, Cecil Short, and Joey (Tonyia) Short; two daughters, Mary Helton and Candace Short; grandchildren, Travis (Summer) Lamb, Nathan and Chase Helton, and Joanna and Harley Short; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Lamb and Tatiana Helton; two sisters, Bessie (Earl) Stidham and Rebecca Gebhart; her close friend, Tracie Morse; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anita was also predeceased by her husband, Cecil Short; and three sisters, Shirley Allen, Frederica Smith, and Mary Katherine Gebhart.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Anita on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at 1:15 p.m. at the Cocoa Evangelistic Center, 324 Pine Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922.
