Obituary

Anita "Netsy" Brady, beloved daughter, sister, mother and teacher passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2020.

Anita was born to Charles and Dolores Best in New Albany, Indiana in 1955 and moved to Florida later that year. Anita and her family are founding members of Ascension Catholic Church Parish and School. She was in the inaugural Ascension School first grade class in 1961-1962. After graduating from Melbourne Central Catholic and the University of Central Florida, she returned to Ascension as a teacher and administrator. In 2007, she earned her Master of Science degree from National University. In 2015 she accepted the responsibilities of Principal spending a total of 36 years working at the school where faculty, staff, students and their families loved her.

Anita genuinely loved all kids. She also loved reading, travelling to national parks, board games, music and as a lifelong Floridian, the beach. Her very favorite thing was spending time with family and friends. She was smart, funny, kind, and exceptionally generous with her time, always willing to help friends and family. She was humble, a great listener and had a gift for explaining things.

Friends and family describe her as "the best person I know".

Anita is survived by her mother (Dee Best), her siblings Chris Best (Lynn), Angela Best, Sally Muragin (Steve), Colleen Ferguson (Dave) and her children Brian (Kori, step daughter Ella) and Laura (Dan) as well as one niece Raena Bleakney (Justin) and six nephews Kalani Muragin (Erica), Patrick Muragin, Matthew Muragin, Nick Ferguson, Ryan Muragin and Josh Ferguson, and their families.

Anita wished for all to avoid large gatherings for health and safety reasons. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 11th from 1-4 p.m. at Ascension Catholic Church. To respect her wishes a private funeral mass will be held the following day, with a live stream available to all. She will be laid to rest at Florida Memorial Gardens.
