Angelo Florio, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024 with God by his side.
Angelo was a devout follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Saturday before his passing he was excited and talking about going to church the next day. But Sunday morning, unknown to him, he would be celebrating in Heaven.
Greeting him in Heaven would be God and his wife of 43 years Runelle, mother Beatrice, father Joseph, brothers and sister, Mauro Florio, Angela Hagen, Johnny Florio and Anthony Florio.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Morrissey and husband Steve, daughter Angela Carey, brother Gasper Florio and wife Rose, sister Christina Pasquale and husband Larry, sister-in-law Katrina Florio. Four grandchildren- Matthew Morrissey and wife Jackie, Christen Morrissey, Andrew Morrissey and wife Kirsten, Aubrey Edwards and husband Adam, Great Grandchildren Alex is 14, Savannah 9 and Ava 6 Morrissey, Aurora Rose Edwards. Twelve nieces and nephews.
Angelo was the third oldest child of seven, he attended Southedge High School, in Plainedge, NY. Angelo was in construction most of his life but took a liking to the artistry of tile work after working with his brother Joe. So he began his own tile business and ended up in Sebastian, FL with his wife Runelle helping him run the business.
Earlier in life Angelo attend Bethpage Assembly of God Church in Long Island, New York, and then Cornerstone Church of God in Melbourne, FL for 40+ years with his wife and the last few months of his life when he couldn't attend church, the church came to him. Before church on Sunday mornings, the preacher (Ash Audie) would visit Angelo and they would have prayer and Runelle's best friend and a member of the church would visit Angelo often to cheer him up and other members and friends as well. Angelo's grandfather Gaspare D'amco was also a pastor at the Italian Christian Church of North America.
The family would like to thank the Angel's- Ann Marie, Grace, Wendy and Chariece and other staff and friends for caring for & treating Angelo and Runelle like they were family for the time they had left on this earth, Angelo's angel was definitely Ann Marie. Thank God for these Angels!
A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11 am at the Cornerstone Church of God, 311 E Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901 with military honors following the service.
