Anastasia (Anna) Zernetzki, 86, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on 24 December 2014 at the Vitas Inpatient Hospice Facility in Merritt Island, Florida with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Guenther Zernetzki of Schenectady, New York, and parents, Anastasia and Franz Alois Wondrak of West Germany. She is survived by her daughters, Margit Zernetzki of Melbourne, Florida and Eveline Zernetzki (Dennis R. Pape) of Orlando, Florida, grandsons Jonathan Moos and Christopher Moos and his wife Nickkoletta Fodor and their children Sophia and Mason Moos, all of Scottsdale, Arizona. She is also survived by family in Germany including her sister Margit Kosczor of Wuensidel, brother Franz Wondrak of Pegnitz, nieces and nephews Sylvia of Erlangen, Sabine of Pegnitz, Diana of Bayreuth, and Roland of Pegnitz, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Mass will be held at the Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N. Harbor City Blvd in Melbourne, Florida on 31 December 2014 at 11:30 am. A brief viewing will be available 45 minutes prior to the service.

The burial will take place at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, Arizona on 5 January 2015 at 12:30 pm where Anastasia will be laid to rest beside her husband Guenther.

Anastasia's Life Story
Anastasia was born on 26 December 1927 and raised in Czechoslovakia as a devout Catholic. She grew up during difficult economic times in Eastern Europe. As a teenager, she lived through German and Russian fighting during World War II. She fled in the night to West Germany under extreme circumstances.

She met her future husband Guenther Zernetzki and after a short romance, they were married in the Catholic Church in Wunsiedel, West Germany. They had two daughters, Margit and Eveline. In 1962 the family immigrated to the United States and settled in upstate New York where with her energetic personality, charm and keen mind, she became a successful Real Estate Broker.

Her beloved husband, passed away in 1984. She then moved to Tempe, Arizona to be close to her daughters and later moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri where she remained until 2010. She chose to relocate to Melbourne, Florida to reside with her daughter Margit.

Anastasia was a survivor. Years of Macular Degeneration eventually took away her vision but it didn't stop her from remaining optimistic and spirited. Anastasia continued to live life to the fullest as her cerebral vascular disease continued until it ultimately took her life. She was always a positive, giving spirit and her smile shined bright for all who knew her. She is loved and will be greatly missed.
