Althea Rose (Langenderfer) Bedard, age 89, died August 19. 2025 at West Melbourne, FL.

Born August 27, 1935 to Clair and Rosella (Degenfelder) Langenderfer, in Toledo, Ohio.  She attended St. Catherine School and Central Catholic High School.  It was there she met her loving husband of 69 years, Richard (Dick) Bedard.  Married in 1955, they settled in The Old West End and raised five children.

In 1974, Dick and Althea purchased the "Longhorn Saloon" on Philips Ave. in Toledo, Ohio where they worked side-by-side for twenty-four years.  Famous for Friday Night Fish Fry and St. Patrick's Day celebrations when the name was temporarily changed to "O'Bedard's" Longhorn Saloon.

Dick and Althea traveled in their motorhomes extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.  Retiring in Florida finding residence in Cape Coral, Winter Haven and Sebastian.

Althea was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved her family.  She was a volunteer at the Space Coast Early Intervention Center and was hired by the organization because of the loving care she gave the children.

Her joyful exclamation of "Raaayyyy!!' at birthdays and celebrations will live on amongst the entire family.

She is survived by children Richard (Kathryn) Bedard, Bob (Debbie) Bedard, Sherry (Joe) Poirier, Tim (Pam) Bedard and Denis (Tricia) Bedard, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1710 Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL 32901. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the church atrium from 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
