Obituary

Allen Bert Angy of Satellite Beach, Florida passed away 27 March 2026, having lived the past 75 years in the area.

Born in Richmond, Indiana, to Joseph Angi Sr. and Edith Mae Kardos, Allen was one of ten children, six girls and four boys.

Allen graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1947, and immediately joined the U.S. Army Air Corps serving as a young Corporal where he crisscrossed the Atlantic, ferrying troops between the United States, England, and France and proudly proclaimed himself a World War II Veteran.

He married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Carroll of Richmond, Indiana in December of 1948, and celebrated 71 years of marriage. Together they built a family that was, above all else, his greatest pride.

Allen loved his faith, family, friends, country, and career supporting first the military, and then the early space program.

After settling in Florida in 1951, Allen built a distinguished career with Civil Service at Patrick Air Force Base, and RCA. At Cape Canaveral, he tested and installed communications equipment at downrange tracking stations stretching from Grand Bahama Island to Ascension Island. As a RCA coordinator at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center for decades, he supported all timing and firing launches. In July of 1969, he was awarded one of his most prized possessions, a commendation signed by all three astronauts from the Man's First Lunar Landing on the Moon (NASA's Apollo 11) mission. Allen retired from Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida in 1994.

Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Carroll Angy (2019), and his youngest daughter, Cheryl Kim Wagster (2016), and survived by daughter Claire and son-in-law Jeff Atwood, daughter Barbara and son-in-law Bill Muchow II, all of Melbourne, Florida, and daughter Pamela Angy of Laurel, Maryland. Allen had the following grandchildren: Nancy Lilley, Colleen Coker, Bill Muchow III, David Muchow, and Craig Muchow, Suzanne Dillingham, Stefanie Baird, and Stacey Pierce, Tommy Wagster, Angi Davidson, and Teresa Wagster. Great grandchildren: Dustin and Brittany Bailey, Megan Doyle, Olivia Miserandino, Paige Muchow Haley, Sydney and Rylie Muchow, the latest addition Kyle Muchow, Jackson and Mason Dillingham, Jamie Baird, Cheyne Dalton and Alexis Lamb, and Blake and Gracie Davidson. He is also survived by his one remaining sister, Gladys Beatty of Tennessee, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

All knew him as a man who always had time, always had a story, and always had love to give. A legendary storyteller with a warm sense of humor that could fill any room, he had a rare gift for making the people around him feel seen, loved, and entertained in equal measure.

We pray that he is now walking with the lord, and back together again with the family and friends who preceded his death, watching over each of us until we meet again.

He was a man who was truly loved, a man who knew how to love truly, and one that will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 4PM on June 27, 2026 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1053 Pine Tree Drive, Indian Barbour Beach, FL 32937.
