Alice Pagan, 92, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the comfort of her home in peace. She was born in 1925 on the Island of Enchantment, Puerto Rico. She is survived by her children Alice Pagan-Guzzo, Milagros Pagan, Cynthia Demeo, Lydia Pagan and, Arty Pagan. She is the grandmother of nine children and great grandmother to two. Arturo her husband, and Michael her son are predeceased.

When she was 20 years old Alice relocated with her mother Ramona and her sister Lydia to Brooklyn, NY. There they worked in the factories of Brooklyn. She was introduced to her husband, Arturo by a mutual friend

They both graduated from the Hollywood Academy of Beauty, and thus began their adventure as Hair Stylists and business owners. They owned and managed three beauty salons in the Bronx NY.

Alice and Arturo started a family and finally purchased their dream home in New Rochelle, NY. There, they raised 5 children of their own and fostered 8 children, eventually, they were able to adopt one boy, Michael.
They were devout Catholics and members of Holy Family Parish in New Rochelle. Alice participated in weekly bible study and each year celebrated the month of May with the crowning of the Virgin Mary at her home. She was a Girl Scout leader as well as a Boy Scout den mother. She was a skilled seamstress, as well as avid at crocheting and knitting.

She later became active and helped to establish the Hispanic Coalition in Westchester County. There she volunteered as a translator and assisted migrant workers and their families attain basic needs to survive. She was paying it forward, for the help her family received some 40 years before.

The visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday August 17, 2017 at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home at 560 Montreal Avenue Melbourne, Fl. 32935. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 18, 2017, 11:00 am at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne, FL 32935. Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
