Alice Faye Burdett

January 19, 1939 - October 20, 2019

On Sunday October 20, 2019, Alice Faye Burdett , loving wife and mother of three daughters, passed away at the age of 80 in Melbourne, Florida.

Alice was born on January 19th, 1939 in Mount Hope, West Virginia. In the 50's Alice attended Marshall College and graduated from Business School during a time when women weren't encouraged to pursue higher education. Alice lived her life with courage and strength.

At age 17 she met and fell for a strong, handsome football player named William (Bill) Burdett at Varsity Grill. Alice always said it was love at first sight! On November 9th, 1957, Alice married the love of her life. Alice and Bill eloped in Indiana and kept their marriage a secret for two years. Together they lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Alice loved to open her house up to the neighborhood; party hosting, game nights, and holiday parties. But never ask her to actually cook food! Alice was known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and ability to hold a one sided conversation. She was an avid music lover and collector of all things Elvis Presley.

Alice is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; children Vickie Johns (Jim), Cathy Stickney (Tom) and Connie Hayes (Gene); and grandchildren Tracy Lee, Anthony, Shawn, James Patrick, Traci, Tonya, and Jerry; great grandchildren Kimberly, Haley, Sierra, Alicia, Kayla, Aidan, and Jayme; and brother Rex B. Anderson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1pm at New Hope Sanctuary, 3150 Milwaukee Ave. West Melbourne, Fl. 32904.
